Kelsey has always had a passion for working with children and families which led to her interest in psychology. Kelsey attended undergrad at Southern Methodist University and received her degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish and Sociology. During her sophomore year, she participated in a Summer Internship at Cincinnati Children’s to get counseling experience in the hospital setting. Her time there was primarily spent in the Autism clinic; helping the psychologists provide feedback and complete assessments. This experience helped confirm her interest in counseling.
Kelsey was accepted to Southern Methodist University’s Master’s program in Counseling where she completed her dual track in General Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy; specializing in play therapy and activity therapy. Kelsey completed her practicum and internship at Children’s Health in Dallas, TX and has over 7 years of experience working in the medical setting providing play therapy, family therapy, and individual counseling.
Along with being a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, and Marriage and Family Therapist. Kelsey also holds certifications as an Autism Play Therapist and is TF-CBT Certified. Kelsey enjoys collaborating with children, adolescents, and families in their journey to healthier relationships with self and others.
Kelsey lives in Dallas with her Husband, son, and Bernedoodle (Como). Como is in training to become an AKC registered therapy dog to help aid in Kelsey’s therapy sessions.
