Sarah's Bio


Sarah has spent her life working with children and families. She completed her education at the University of North Texas, with her undergraduate work in early  childhood development and psychology, & received her masters degree in counseling with an emphasis in play therapy.  Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist and a National Certified Counselor. She has worked with children and families in the clinical setting, community agency, and hospital setting. For the last five years she has been working with children  in the  alternative school setting providing play therapy to the students  and assisting the teachers and other school staff to help the child be successful.  Sarah is also the co-founder of Camp C.O.P.E., which teaches coping skills to the children of wounded and deployed service members.

Sarah is dedicated to helping children and families  experience positive, healthy relationships with each other and looks forward to working with your family.

Park Cities Counseling Interns

Tara Cavanaugh M.S., LPC-I

          Tara is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern and provides counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, families, and parents.  She completed her education at Southern Methodist University with her undergraduate work in psychology and pre-medical sciences, and received her Master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis on play therapy and marriage and family therapy.  Tara has gained experience as a counselor in a yearlong internship at the SMU Center for Family Counseling,  as well as the crisis counseling agency, City House.  She is trained in cognitive techniques for assisting the acceleration of learning and improvement of learning deficits.  She has experience in education as a teacher focusing on early childhood and development. 

            Tara is dedicated to helping individuals so that they may live a hopeful life with robust, healthy relationships.
